In May each year there are about 500 exhibitions of artists’ work in Oxfordshire. Most of the exhibitions are in the artists’ homes or studios. The kind of artwork ranges from painting and ceramics to furniture and jewellery.
You can find a list of artists and addresses on the Internet or by picking up a brochure. You don’t need to make any kind of reservation. You can simply knock on the artist’s door, go in and walk around.
Today I visited the studio of an artist who lives in Freeland, about 10 miles north west of Oxford. His name is Michael Harris and he works in bronze, stone, wood, clay and paper. You can visit his website here.
